This fundraiser events involves racing giant flamingos, ducks, pelicans, swans, toucans, bananas, lobsters and watermelons across the river to the other side.

It's an informal, family-friendly, pet-friendly event with mens, womens and kids race events. A prize will be awarded to the winner of each category and a small gift given to all registered entrants.

Registration costs just $10 (plus 0.40 per cent credit card transaction fee), with 100 per cent of funds raised being donated to a project involving the HIV orphans of the Morning Star Childrens Centre in Welkom, South Africa. In Sept 2017, we've secured a bus and will be taking a bunch of them to Durban to see the ocean for the first time. Inflatable toys will be gifted to each, along with educational materials, clothes and funds to help with orphanage running costs.

So meet with us at the beach at Rotary Park on Currumbin Creek (northern end of Thrower Drive bridge near Salk Oval) on Saturday 28 January, and give a little by having a lot of fun.
